| The end is near
The seventh and final review of the week is now up, for the game Rampart. Can't you tell I was running out of ideas?
With less than 24 hours left in the marathon, I have only 13 more minutes of playing time left. I think I'm gonna make it.

| Another milestone
I just counted them all up, and today's review of Mega Man 6 is my 75th video game review overall. The weird thing is, I always expected it to be the last review I'd do, since I did all the other MM games fairly quickly and I wanted ot save the last one for a special occasion. I think #75 is special enough though.
Oh, yeah - I played 10 hours of NES today. and I've still got about 6 1/4 hours to go.

| No, I didn't miss a day
I just forgot to put the update here.
Yesterday's addition to the review pile was Faxanadu. Today, I've uploaded my review of RC Pro-Am, which incidentally is my 50th NES review. Kinda makes sense that I review a game I got when I first got the deck, doesn't it?
BTW, I've now completed over 23 hours over NES-playing. The only problem is, today is pretty much my last chance at getting a large chunk of time done, since I work tomorrow and Saturday (a 3-12 shift to boot). Let's hope for the best.

| Hey, I might actually pull this off
Time for our third review of the week, a little more positive than the last two. River City Ransom is the game I've grilled this time.
At this point, I've completed just about 12 hours out of the 40 I've pledged this week. And with today being Adventure day, I have a feeling that number's going to get a lot higher.
Out with the old, in with the new
Last Friday, my old 1984 Mercedes Diesel finally kicked the bucket. I had botched an oil change last winter (hence my consumer alert last week) and I wound up losing about 7 quarts of oil before I realized what had gone wrong. Still, it lasted about 7 months before it finally surrendered on the way to work. While I figure out what the heck I'm going to do with the thing, I've gotten a new 2002 Mazda Protegé. I'll send you guys a picture when I get around to it.

| So far, so good
Review #2 for NES Marathon week is now up, for the platformer game Bart vs. the Space Mutants.
I've so far completed 4 1/2 hours out of a pledged 40. It's a decent start, but I need to get on the stick a little bit. See you tomorrow!

| Al Gore... Bill Buckner... The Buffalo Bills... Loogaroo... "Things that lose!"
I'm now officially 0-for-3 on game show auditions. Didn't even get past the opening quiz on Pyramid. Truth be told, I'm glad the people who make the quiz aren't clue-givers; they'd stink worse than Ed Asner did. Tell me, do you know what hot dogs, air-mailed items, TV dinners, airline and hotel reservations, and cheese have in common? (My clues would've been employee applications, computer words, and film.)
'Cause I'm a marathon man...
This Sunday officially kicks off the first annual NES Marathon Week, as organized by message board guru RoyalRanger. I've pledged to play 40 hours of NES that week, and am also making a pledge to publish an NES review each day of the marathon. Whether I'll succeed in either is another matter entirely.
Consumer alert
After changing the oil in my car twice in the span of three days, I warn all car-lovers out there. Do NOT use FRAM oil filters. Their O-rings are too thin, meaning you'll leak all over the place.
