Front Game Rules

Ted Lange and a contestant face offTwo players competed, each partnered with a celebrity. The object of each round was to guess three 5- to 9- letter words, each with a common thread. When a team's turn starts, they must either guess a word or attempt to add a letter to one of the words (at which point, a guess is required). When adding a letter, the players hit a button, and a cursor moves around the word, placing a letter where it stops. If it stops on a space that's already revealed, the team must give a letter to the other team. If a word is guessed incorrectly, the word is spelled up to the first incorrect letter (if it's the last letter, it isn't given).

You've already revealed that letter! The player that guesses the third and final word in the grouping wins the round. The player wins a prize depending on how many of the words s/he guessed. If the player sweeps the round, s/he gets both prizes for guessing one and two words, and a bonus prize. The first player to win two rounds wins the game and goes on to the bonus round. In the first two rounds, the celebrity from one team faces the civilian from the other team; if a third round was necessary, both civilians played.

End Game Rules

The bonus round in progressThe champion and his partner have 60 seconds to guess ten words for a grand prize. For each word, the team is given two words as clues, and the word itself is filled in one letter at a time. The team gets $100 for each word guessed, and a trip for getting all ten.

Loogaroo Looks it Over

The Last Word

Gameplay: 1 pt.
The rules were awful confusing. Even the contestants didn't know what to do sometimes.
Host: 2 pts.
Wink is Wink, but he doesn't look totally comfortable here.
Presentation: 2 pts.
A generous rating here, but I liked the neon set and the theme music was innocuous.
Execution: 1 pt.
The judge seemed awfully trigger happy when calling time on the contestants.
Total Score: 6 pts.
